HYDROTHERAPY is a 37' MDI long range Downeast Cruiser finished by her experienced engineer owner who did a first class job in every way. This is the second vessel he has built. The vessel was built in 2000 to cruise two comfortably and efficiently with extensive tankage and storage. She was designed mechanically and electrically for cruising on an anchor rather than marina living, as she is equipped with a large engine-driven 45 gph watermaker and Seafrost refrigerator, large alternator and house battery bank, making 4 lbs of ice a day. The engine needs to operate for 1 hour a day in Maine or 1.5 hours in Southern waters to keep all above systems operating efficiently. Electrical usage including a computer for 6 hours only drops house bank .2 volts. The owner prefers to cruise at 7.8 knots for maximum fuel efficiency and quiet running and suggests that if a buyer intends to cruise at higher speeds, the prop might need to be repitched. HYDROTHERAPY has made 4 year-long round trips to Florida and two round trips to the Bahamas. The owner reports she handles extremely well due to her built-down hull, long keel, and large rudder. Please call us if you wish to inspect this extraordinary vessel.
