ANDYBONES is a completely rebuilt 37' Repco "Downeast" cruiser, by Buxton Boats in Stonington, Maine. Peter Buxton gutted this 1971-1972 Repco in 2000-2003. He installed a new cockpit and a new Duffy 35 superstructure, installed a single Cat 3208TA diesel, designed and  built a new interior with new wiring, plumbing, tanks, electronics, etc. He sold the vessel to her present  owner who has enjoyed her since 2020. ANDYBONES has a spacious cockpit, and a simple interior for 2 or 4. Her single Cat has under 2300 hour, and the vessel cruises easily at 15-16 mph. HULL & DECK: Total Refit 2000-2003

  • In 2000, Peter Buxton gutted vessel down to bare hull and then rebuilt vessel to convert from lobster boat to a cruiser.
  • Designer: Ernest Brierly.
  • Superstructure and Housetop: Atlantic Boat Company, Brooklin, ME (from Duffy 35).
  • Builder: Bare Hull: Repco, Gouldsboro, ME; Everything else finished by: Peter Buxton, Buxton Boats, Stonington, ME.
  • White Awlgripped hull, black boottop, green bottom.
  • Fiberglass with full keel flared bow.
  • Cockpit access to clean off prop.
  • Solid fiberglass deck, integrated with cabin structure.
  • Side decks are supported with fiberglass knees.
  • Cockpit is fiberglass over plywood deck with pressure treated 2"x4" beam and non-skid finish.
  • One aluminum Freeman hatch and four fiberglass hatches.
  • Cabin house (supposedly on Duffy 35 house) is moulded fiberglass with glass windows in PVC frames. 
  • There are Lewmar portlights and 2 deck hatches in PIlothouse overhead and one in foredeck; one opening windshield at helm.
  • Starboard helm door, and portside cockpit companionway door.
  • Solid fiberglass rudder; fiberglass skeg to rudder to protect the prop.
  • Small transom platform with S/S swim ladder.
  • Two Todd helm and companion chairs.

TANKAGE: 

Fuel: 160 gallons in two fiberglass tanks.

Water: 25 gallons in bladder tank below vee berths.

Holding: 6 gallons in poly tank with y-valve. 

Hot Water: Raritan 6 gallon tank.

ENGINE & MECHANICAL: 

  • 2003 single Caterpillar 3208TA , 375 hp diesel, V8, FWC.
  • Engine hours:2298 hours as of 9/2024.
  • Cruising speed: 15-16 mph @ 2000-2200 RPM.
  • Maximum speed: 19-20 mph @ WOT - 2800 RPM.
  • Twin Disc MG-507, 2:1 reduction gear.
  • 4 bladed bronze prop.
  • Hydro Slave hydraulic steering with aluminum reservoir tank.
  • Engine is installed in raised engine box with dining table mounted on top; dining table converts to large double berth.
  • Fiberglass muffler and wet exhaust.
  • 2" S/S shaft; dripless shaft seal.
  • Kobelt throttle controls; bronze spoked steering wheel.
  • Heatercraft cabin heater when engine is running.
  • Racor fuel filter.
  • Owner uses hydraulic hauler as his windlass.

ELECTRICAL: 

  • 12V DC electrical systems.
  • 2021 two 8D lead acid batteries with battery switch.
  • In 2003, vessel's electrical system was all new.
  • 2 Rule 1500 bilge pumps.
  • High water alarm. 

ACCOMMODATIONS:  

  • For two to four.
  • The wheelhouse is entered through aft portside door.
  • Galley is to port and L-shaped settee (convertible to wide double) is to starboard with storage under.
  • Galley includes a double S/S sink, Magic Chef LPG stove and oven (20 lb LPG tank in cockpit locker).
  • Bench seat and cushion forward to port, two swivel Todd seats for helmsman and companion.
  • Helm console and helm door to starboard.
  • Below is the enclosed head to starboard with handheld shower, sink and manual W.C. with 12V macerator and y-valve.
  • Vee berths forward with filler to make very wide queen berth.
  • There are shelves outboard and attractive varnished hull ceilings.
