OWNER'S NOTES

1978 Peterson Designed / Palmer Johnson built NY 40 Sailboat One design racer/cruiser.

This sailboat is kind of unique, there are only 20, this boat is hull number #1, a Doug Peterson designed. Designed for the members of the NY yacht club for a one design racing and cruiser. It was the first sailboat they designed at that time to not only be raced but also be comfortable to cruise with family. The boat has a V- berth with filler, main salon, and walk in aft cabin with over 6' of head room. Sleeping for 6.

The boat was purchased to be cruised south in the winter, but our health has changed, and a power cruiser would better suit their needs at this time. She has been sailed from Boston, the coast of Maine, to St John, NB and offshore trip to Nova Scotia Coast up to Halifax. We have been updated and rebuilding the boat since we purchased and is very well maintained. We have completed over 60K of upgrades. The boat sails well and points high to windward where most cruising boats are unable to sail. If you’re looking of a comfortable sailboat and one that really sails well, this is a maybe the boat for you.
