1986 Tayana MK I Cutter

Harpswell, Maine

$59,500

THISTLE was designed by the renowned Robert Perry with a canoe stern and cutter rig, capable of round the world cruising and equally suited to very comfortably cruising the East Coast/Canada/Bahamas. Owned by a top service manager at a highly respected yacht yard, she has been stored annually for full decommissioning, rig inspection and commissioning. She has had just 2 owners and has explored the coast of Alaska, Bermuda, the US East coast and the Canadian Maritimes.

Her sail plan is easily managed by a couple, she sails smartly in all points of sail, systems are simple and easy to access for routine maintenance, just a few pieces of her old growth teak trim are in varnish/cetol for easy, less time-consuming upkeep. Her teak decks were refurbished in July 2024 and are in superb condition. Simple changes like reconfigured lifeline stanchions make passing from cockpit to bow very easy.

Being hull #497 she's late in the production run of almost 600 sister ships and benefits from numerous improvements over earlier models.

Sellers are moving to power, regretfully, but THISTLE'S timeless design and construction will offer new adventures for her next steward.

Her teak decks are in very good condition. Highly recommended and we thank you for your interest.
